About Us

CompletelyEco was started by me (Iris) in the spring of 2011. I am originally from Montgomery County, Maryland and grew up in what I consider a very normal household where the most sustainable thing we did was recycle. In 2001, I graduated from a high school in Washington D.C. and quickly decided University of Vermont was the only college that would do. I moved to Burlington, Vermont and lived there for a few years. Burlington was full of snow, cold, great hikes and good, environmentally minded people; I think this is when I finally got in touch with my environmental side. In 2003, I realized that Burlington just wasn't cutting it any more and I followed my passion for photography to Maryland Institute College of Art. I have been living in Baltimore ever since with my boyfriend, our dogs, and cat. I have lived all over Baltimore (moving once a year was something my boyfriend did not sign up for!). Bolton Hill, Mount Vernon, Clipper Mill, Hampden and now Monkton.

My boyfriend and I found “our fisherman's paradise” on craigslist. We share 30 acres with our landlord. We live in a house built in the 1850's and it has never really seen an update. We share the house with our dogs, Zabba and Franklin and our cat Reuben. We share 4 hens with our landlord and live for the fresh eggs they provide us. We also have a pony, Ladybug, who has become my new best friend. I just love when she comes in for a nudge or hug.

So that is me in a nutshell.
